Christopher Meyer MD

Dr. Christopher Meyer is a graduate (Summa Cum Laude) of the University of Notre Dame, and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Following medical school, Dr. Meyer completed his surgical residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, and moved to Central Florida in 2004, where he has been dedicated to providing state-of-the-art care in General and Vascular Surgery.

During his training in Vascular Surgery, Dr. Meyer realized that patients with venous disease were being ignored by the medical community. Although patients suffered from pain related to varicose veins and venous disease, they were told that its treatment was merely cosmetic, and not a medical issue. As a result, Dr. Meyer started Florida Vein Care Specialists in order to service the vascular health needs of patients across Central Florida. Dr. Meyer is dedicated to the care and cure of venous disease ranging from varicose veins, chronic swelling, venous ulcers, and spider veins.

In 2012, Doctor Meyer opened his first Vein Clinic (Florida Vein Care Specialists) in Merritt Island, Florida. Since then Florida Vein Care Specialists has expanded to five locations serving Central Florida.

Shawn Marino - Lead Sonographer

As founder of SonoConsultants – an interventional ultrasound training program for physicians – and lead sonographer for Florida Vein Care Specialists, Shawn has dedicated his career to identifying the root causes of chronic venous insufficiency and providing solutions for the cure of venous disease related symptoms. He has trained dozens of Sonographers on the ins and outs of vascular sonography. He has performed sonography in over 10,000 varicose vein procedures.

Tonya Temple - Nurse Practitioner

Tanya was born in England and grew up in Massachusetts and South Carolina. She spent 10 years in Air Force and graduated from Old Dominion University nursing cum laude. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She spent ten years in trauma nursing, four years in surgical nursing, and specializes in vascular medicine. She has trained many level two providers in Vein Gogh Spider Vein Treatments, Sclerotherapy, as well as RF and Laser vein therapy. Tonya has performed over 1000 endovenous varicose vein procedures.

John Thornton - Business and Marketing Manager

John has been in healthcare marketing for 20 years. He has been a top sales person, had multiple medical technology companies, and been involved in several medical-related internet startups. He has been participated in thousands of surgeries and dealt directly with thousands of patients. He has been instrumental in establishing many vein clinics and has handled all marketing aspects of multiple locations. He has been able to handle all marketing aspects aspects of the startup of multiple veins clinics. He will ensure that all details are handled and that you have a steady stream of new patients in the waiting room.
